The old city is walkable, layered and genuinely alive. Museums that would anchor any European capital sit minutes from your door. The Cyprus Museum, the Leventis, the Byzantine collection, the Famagusta Gate cultural centre. Ledra Street runs through the heart of it all, lined with cafés, local shops and the famous checkpoint into North Nicosia, where the city becomes something else entirely.
